If You KNOW just one thing today:
Life always follows your lead. You cannot expect consistent results with inconsistent effort. Kind of makes sense doesn’t it?Would consistency ever follow inconsistency? No of course not. And yet how many days have you sat exasperated with your lack of progress, knowing full well that your effort has been … well…haphazard. You’ve been up down and all over the place with this thing you are building. And you’ve been acting as the passenger in it all – haplessly going along for the emotional roller coaster ride – as though you were not in charge of the ride. Oh yeah… that. Did you forget that you are the one driving this thing?? Life always follows your lead. And by the way, thinking about it constantly, doesn’t count as applying yourself consistently. Wish it did. Really wish it did. Here’s my suggestion: faithfully apply yourself for the next 90 days. Throw out all of your attachment to the results. Focus ONLY on what is in your control, namely: your activities – small, simple, manageable consistent daily effort. 90 days. If you can do that … your life will change. If You DO just one thing today: Create an activity plan for your 90 days of effort. What daily activities will you commit to? Then make today day one. You can do this thing – you really can : D |

If You KNOW just one thing today:
Inspiration may get you started, but it’s your commitment that will see you through. It’s Monday – and chances are you are reading this looking for a little inspiration to kick start your week. And hey, I’m happy to oblige : ) But if I’m being honest, inspiration – and its counterpart, enthusiasm – will never carry you as far as your commitment will. In fact… (and I cannot believe I am going to say this)… both are over-rated.Look, I’m all for the “woo-hoos!!” in life – I will stand on my feet cheering for you til the cows come home, but the truth is … it is your commitment to what you are building that is going to carry you through. Neither your enthusiasm for your project, nor my enthusiasm for you, will take you as far. Why is that? Because we are moody kind of beings. We are deeply affected by our feelings. Which means… Your enthusiasm will fly out the window the moment what you are doing gets tough….or grueling … or boring. Your excitement will dissolve the moment a door shuts in your face… or a complaint shows up… or someone lets you down. But it’s in those very moments that you must dig deep, tap into your “why” … and do what you gotta do .. even though you really don’t feel like doing it. And that my brilliant friend, is what separates you from the rest : ) If You DO just one thing today: Make your commitment last longer than your mood. ![]() |
